Frosted Mini-Wheats are a breakfast cereal made by Kellogg’s that consists of shredded wheat cereal pieces and frosting. It is also known as Frosted Wheats and Mini Max in the United Kingdom, Frosted Toppas in Canada, and Frosted Flakes in the United States.
History
Frosted Mini-Wheats were introduced in the United States in 1969, and Frosted Wheats were available in the United Kingdom from the 1980s to the early 1990s under the Toppas name. Since January 2008, Canadian-produced (plant in Belleville, Ontario) Mini-wheats have been available in Canada and imported into the United States.
United States
Kellogg’s claims that Frosted Mini-Wheats improved kids’ attentiveness by 20% in a study were found to be false by the Federal Trade Commission. In 2009, Kellogg’s introduced a “Little Bites” spinoff of the Mini- Wheats brand.
Canada
Vanilla featured an animated Mr. Mini-wheat singing and dancing to a tune based on Black Lace’s “Agadoo.” In the early 1990s, an ad for Mini-Wheats aired in Canada, prompting several more in this series.

Ingredients
Frosted Mini-Wheats is not vegetarian because it contains gelatin (gelatin is made from collagen derived from animal bones and fat). Brown rice sugar was added to the list of ingredients for the frosted mini-wheats dessert in 2012.

Kellogg’s Frosted Mini-Wheats products may be recalled due to the possibility of metal fragments from a faulty factory contaminating the cereal, according to the company.
